mobium fill

This tool on every surface: CLI · MCP · Python · JavaScript · Go · Java · .NET

Clear an element and type text into it

Replaces what the field holds with the text: cleared, then typed into, located and checked as mobium type is. Not on Android's uiautomator dump driver.

On a slider the text is a position, from 0 (the start of its track) to 1 (the end), and the answer is the value the slider then reports.

Usage

mobium fill <@ref | locator> <text> [flags]

Examples

Replace what a field holds

mobium fill testid=search "coffee"

Move a slider to a position

mobium fill label=Volume 0.3

Printed on an Android 15 emulator:

moved label=Volume to position 0.3 — it reads "3.0", was "5.0"

More, from mobium fill --help

mobium fill @e3 "hello@example.com"
mobium fill testid=search "new query"
mobium fill label=Volume 0.3 # a slider, 30% of the way along

On a device

mobium fill testid=username mobium on an Android 15 emulator

mobium fill testid=username mobium on an Android 15 emulator

The tool

fill calls app_fill; its arguments and what every client calls it are there.
