Shake the device (emulators and simulators)

What shake-to-undo, shake-to-report and debug menus listen for. A simulator gets the shake its Device menu sends; an emulator's accelerometer is swung side to side and put back at rest. Whether the app reacts is up to its own detector, so check the screen after. A real phone refuses.

Usage

mobium shake [flags]

Examples

Shake the device

mobium shake

Printed on an Android 15 emulator:

sent a shake on the emulator's accelerometer, ±20 m/s² side to side for about 1.5s, then back at rest; whether the app reacts is up to its own shake detector

More, from mobium shake --help

mobium shake

No screenshot: an emulator shows nothing for a shake; whether the app reacts is up to the app.

The tool

shake calls app_shake; its arguments and what every client calls it are there.
